Mobiliteitschallenge

CityBarge wins the mobility challenge of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management! More than a hundred spectators watched the live webinar and saw how CityBarge took home the prize. CityBarge is building a fully electrically powered push boat for city logistics over water. As a result, fewer trucks are required and there is less CO2 emissions. Shaun gave a great pitch that convinced the jury.

Innovative concepts were also pitched by the other finalists. BNA Battery refurbishes batteries for electric cars. And SQUAD Mobility develops small solar-powered cars for in cities. There was also an encouragement prize for Team Solid that is developing a new fuel for ships.

Dutch Mobility Innovations wrote a nice article about the event on their website: “The jury praised CityBarge for their ingenuity. “CityBarge does what the Netherlands is good at: transport by water. And that's how we used to do it ”, explains chairman of the jury Mariëtte van Empel.”

Afterwards the team toasted digitally!
